Hart's triumph marked a significant turnaround in his career, as he drove to victory in his inaugural race with John Force Racing. "I’m so grateful for everybody. I got the crap kicked out of me for four years, and I’m having a hard time believing this is happening," Hart expressed, reflecting on the challenges he has overcome. His gratitude extended to his new team, emphasizing the professionalism and camaraderie he has found with them.
During the race, Hart showcased extraordinary skill, steering his Burnyzz/Speedmaster dragster to a spectacular 3.733-second pass at 337.83 mph. “We crushed every record that I have had in my career, all in the first weekend with John Force Racing,” said Hart, highlighting the momentum his partnership has generated. “Last year was actually so special to win the Gatornationals for the first time... It’s so hard to win any race, especially for somebody like me,” Green remarked, expressing his delight at achieving back-to-back victories. He noted how the confidence gained in his car after the first round contributed to his successful race day.
In the Pro Stock category, Matt Hartford ended a lengthy winless streak by triumphing over six-time champion Greg Anderson in the final round. Hartford piloted his Total Seal Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.530-second run at 210.41 mph, a moment of significant relief after experiencing several close calls in prior competitions.
"We were sitting having dinner the other night, and we were saying we need to get one of these diamond Wallys... To get the first one in Pro Stock is incredible," Hartford expressed, emphasizing the importance of his win.
